Professor Green Diagnosed with Rare Eye and Spine Tumours

Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, has recently shared a concerning health update with his fans. He has been diagnosed with Schwannomatosis, a rare condition characterized by multiple benign tumors. Currently, he is coping with four tumors: one located behind his left eye and three on his spine.
Details of Professor Green’s Health Diagnosis
In a candid social media post, Professor Green detailed the nature of his health struggles. He has previously undergone the removal of several superficial tumors from his head and neck. However, new growths have emerged that are causing significant pain.
- One tumor behind the left eye
- Three spinal tumors, including:
- Two smaller lesions at T5 and T6
- One larger tumor near the S2 nerve, approximately the size of a lime
Despite the challenging diagnosis, he expressed gratitude that his tumors are benign. Nevertheless, he acknowledged the chronic nature of this condition, which comes with various complications.
Personal Reflections on Living with Schwannomatosis
Professor Green spoke openly about his journey, noting that genetics played a significant role in his health issues. In addition to Schwannomatosis, he mentioned having ADHD, autism, pyloric stenosis, and factor VII deficiency.
He emphasized the importance of acceptance in managing his health: “I’ve come to a place of acceptance – this is how I’ll experience life.” He recognizes the value of staying present and avoiding negative thought cycles, which can hinder progress.
Mental Health and Support
In his message, he acknowledged the connection between his physical and mental well-being. He mentioned likely experiencing hyper-interoception, an overactive awareness of internal sensations, which has become clearer following his autism diagnosis.
Professor Green encouraged others dealing with chronic conditions to embrace their experiences. “To anyone suffering with anything chronic – I see, hear and feel you,” he concluded, offering his support to fans facing similar challenges.
As he continues to navigate these health issues, Professor Green remains dedicated to maintaining a positive outlook and engaging with his community through his art and experiences.
