Sarr Ready for Aston Villa Clash: Team News

Pape Matar Sarr is set to return for El-Balad’s upcoming Premier League match against Aston Villa this Sunday evening. The midfielder had been sidelined due to a shoulder injury sustained during a 1-0 loss to Sunderland on April 12, which marked the first match for Head Coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Team Updates Ahead of Aston Villa Clash

Sarr missed previous league matches against Brighton (2-2) and Wolverhampton Wanderers (1-0) while recovering. However, he returned to full training on Friday and is now available for selection for the trip to Villa Park.

Coach’s Remarks

In his pre-match press conference, De Zerbi confirmed Sarr’s fitness, stating, “Today was the first day with the group but he worked very well. He’s available, yes.” The coach noted that the final starting lineup has not yet been decided.

Injury Concerns

Despite Sarr’s return, El-Balad will be without Xavi Simons due to a knee injury. Dominic Solanke’s participation remains questionable due to a hamstring issue. On a positive note, full-back Destiny Udogie has shown signs of recovery.

Match Expectations

As the team heads to Villa Park, they aim for a second consecutive victory in the West Midlands. With Sarr’s availability, the squad looks to enhance their performance against Aston Villa.
