Stars Withdraw Last Minute from Liverpool Event in ‘Nightmare’ Scenario

Comic Con Liverpool is facing last-minute cancellations from several notable stars, causing disappointment among fans eagerly anticipating their appearance. The event will take place from May 2 to May 3, 2026, at the Exhibition Centre within the Liverpool Experience Campus. Despite the cancellations, thousands of fans are poised to attend.
Stars Withdraw Last Minute from Liverpool Event
This bi-annual convention features a variety of events, including autograph signings, photo sessions, and Q&A panels. The 2026 spring edition aims to provide a memorable experience for attendees with a lineup of approximately 50 stars from the worlds of film, television, and pop culture.
Notable Attendees
- Noah Schnapp, Cara Buono, Joe Chrest, Caleb McLaughlin from Stranger Things
- Matt Smith, Arthur Darvill, Karen Gillan from Doctor Who
- Gillian Anderson from The X-Files
- William Shatner from Star Trek
However, fans were recently notified that Joel David Moore has withdrawn due to a directing commitment, and Steven Williams is unable to attend due to illness. The event organizers communicated these changes promptly through social media.
Ticket buyers will automatically receive refunds for any missed photo opportunities. Additionally, Emmett J. Scanlan will be present on Saturday, taking over David Moore’s table at the Green venue and ensuring that the schedule remains as seamless as possible.
Changes and Updates
Due to the timing of these withdrawals, updated information might not be reflected on printed materials. Still, organizers assured attendees that electronic displays at the venue would provide the most current schedules.
In a positive twist, Alicia Silverstone confirmed her attendance for Sunday, May 3, from 10:30 AM to 1 PM. She will be available for selfies and autographs, but will not participate in professional photo sessions.
While the last-minute cancellations pose challenges, the Comic Con Liverpool team is managing adjustments and hopes to fill in gaps where possible. They emphasized that ongoing communication is key to keeping all attendees informed of any further updates.
