Oakridge Park Mall to Officially Open in Late May

Oakridge Park Mall is set to officially open on May 28, 2026. The grand opening ceremony will start at 11 a.m., marking a significant milestone after years of construction and planning. This indoor mall, part of a high-density redevelopment project, will also feature a rooftop public park.

Construction and Redevelopment Progress

Since construction began in 2018, over 30,000 workers have contributed to the Oakridge Park project. This redevelopment is Vancouver’s largest private-sector construction initiative. At peak times, thousands of workers were present on-site, supported by numerous construction cranes.

Opening Day Highlights

  • Approximately 500,000 sq. ft. of the total 650,000 sq. ft. retail space will be operational on opening day.
  • Live music will entertain visitors every weekend in June.
  • Unique floral installations will be on display from May 28 to June 7.
  • Gift card promotions will offer complimentary floral bouquets for purchases over $200 during the launch weekend.

Retail and Dining Opportunities

Over 100 retailers and restaurants are expected to be ready for the opening, including the Time Out Market, a 50,000 sq. ft. food hall featuring 18 curated kitchens. Renowned brands such as:

  • Acne Studios
  • Gucci
  • Louis Vuitton
  • Tiffany & Co.
  • Dolce & Gabbana

Other significant tenants will include a returning Safeway and Signature BC Liquor Store, which will open shortly after the mall’s debut.

Rooftop Public Park

The rooftop park, spanning 7.5-acres, will also become available at launch. It is designed to be a City of Vancouver park and will include:

  • Open grass lawns
  • Event-friendly spaces
  • Pathways and extensive landscaping

Future Developments

Looking beyond the opening, a new civic center is scheduled to open in early 2027. This facility will include classrooms, community spaces, and a branch of the Vancouver Public Library.

As Oakridge Park evolves, it aims to become a premier shopping and lifestyle destination. The project envisions a future with approximately 4,300 residential units and additional retail space.
