After a significant golf game in Mexico, the director of Festivent, Sébastien Huot, solidified plans to include the rising musical duo Angine de Poitrine in the 2026 lineup. This decision follows a series of discussions about the duo’s growing popularity that started taking shape in February.
Inspiration from a Golf Game
During a conversation on the golf course, a friend from Mexico inquired about Angine de Poitrine, sparking Huot’s determination to feature them. The unexpected connection led him to discuss potential inclusion with his programming partner, Jean-François Michaud. Upon returning from Mexico, Huot decided to move forward with booking the duo.
Festivent 2026 Lineup
Despite their international acclaim, Angine de Poitrine is not one of the top five headliners at Festivent. However, they have been granted a special status, allowing them to perform for the same duration as Vulgaires Machins, unlike the other acts scheduled for shorter sets. Their performance is set for August 2, preceding The Offspring and Vulgaires Machins, at Champigny Park.
Exciting Promotions
Huot expressed pride in the buzz surrounding Angine de Poitrine, noting that the anticipation was even more significant than that for the festival’s major headliners. This highlights the duo’s appeal beyond Quebec, where they have been attracting large audiences internationally.
