Lakers’ Austin Reaves Cleared to Play in Game 5 Against Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers are set to enhance their lineup with the return of guard Austin Reaves. He has been cleared to participate in Game 5 against the Houston Rockets, according to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania. This matchup is critical as the Lakers aim to close out the first-round series.
Austin Reaves’ Injury and Comeback
Austin Reaves had been sidelined due to an oblique injury sustained in early April. He was previously upgraded to questionable ahead of Game 3 but did not participate in the last two games. Reaves commenced his return-to-play program last Tuesday, as noted by Lakers coach JJ Redick.
Regular Season Performance
This season, Reaves achieved impressive statistics. He averaged:
- 23.3 points per game
- 4.7 rebounds per game
- 5.5 assists per game
Current Series Status
The Lakers are in a strong position, leading the series 3-1 against the Rockets. However, they will still be without star guard Luka Doncic. Doncic has been out since suffering a hamstring injury on April 2, the same game where Reaves was injured.
As the Lakers gear up for Game 5 at home, the return of Austin Reaves could be pivotal in their quest for victory and advancing in the playoffs.
