Arbeloa Dismisses Mbappé’s Instagram Like with Laughter
Real Madrid manager Álvaro Arbeloa addressed the recent social media activity of Kylian Mbappé concerning a potential managerial change at the club. Ahead of their upcoming match against Real Betis, Mbappé liked a post that suggested José Mourinho should return to the Bernabéu.
Arbeloa Dismisses Mbappé’s Instagram Like
In a pre-match conference, Arbeloa stated he does not concern himself with what players do on social media. He remarked, “These are things I don’t even consider. It doesn’t bother me if he gives a like to Mourinho, Julia Roberts, or anyone else. It has no importance.”
Current Season Challenges for Real Madrid
Álvaro Arbeloa took over as Real Madrid’s manager in mid-January, succeeding Xabi Alonso. Under his leadership, the team is struggling. They are currently eliminated from both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League. Additionally, they find themselves nine points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona with only nine matches remaining.
If Real Madrid finishes this season without a trophy, it will be their second consecutive trophy-less season, a trend not seen since 2009-2010.
Arbeloa’s Focus on Professionalism
When questioned about his long-term future at the club, Arbeloa remained noncommittal. “My responsibility is to win every game. That’s how I see it and what I ask of the players,” he explained. The 43-year-old emphasized professionalism and respect for the club’s history.
He added, “My role isn’t to motivate Real Madrid players. They already set the highest standards for themselves. My job is to prepare them for what they’ll face on the pitch.”
Mbappé’s Performance This Season
Kylian Mbappé has had a standout season, scoring 41 goals across all competitions. He netted one goal during the recent 2-1 victory over Alavés and has recorded 24 goals in 27 league appearances.
