CBS Announces 2026-27 Schedule: ‘Cupertino’ Leads Fall, ‘Ghosts,’ ‘Matlock’ Shift to Midseason

The CBS primetime schedule for the 2026-27 season features notable shifts alongside familiar programming. The network has decided to move two of its Thursday mainstays, “Ghosts” and “Matlock,” to midseason. This adjustment paves the way for the introduction of new series, “Eternally Yours” and “Cupertino.”

CBS 2026-27 Schedule Changes

  • New Series:
    • Cupertino: A legal drama set in Silicon Valley, created by Robert and Michelle King, featuring Mike Colter as an attorney challenging major tech firms. It will premiere Thursdays at 10 p.m., following “Elsbeth.”
    • Eternally Yours: A comedy focusing on a family of vampires, created by the showrunners of “Ghosts.” It will air at 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
    • Einstein: A comedic crime procedural featuring Matthew Gray Gubler as the great-grandson of Albert Einstein, who pairs with a detective to solve cases. This series will also debut in midseason.
  • Midseason Adjustments:
    • “Ghosts” will still have a full 22-episode season, including Halloween and Christmas specials.
    • The episode count for the upcoming season of “Matlock” is yet to be determined.
  • Returning Shows: CBS will continue with the “NCIS” franchise, introducing “NCIS: New York” with LL Cool J, airing on Tuesdays. Other current “NCIS” shows will share the 10 p.m. slot, with “NCIS: Origins” in the fall and “NCIS: Sydney” in midseason.

Additional Programming Changes

The network is also restructuring its Monday night schedule. The previous comedy block will be replaced; “The Neighborhood” has concluded, and the first-year comedy “DMV” has been canceled. “FBI” will now occupy the 8 p.m. slot on Mondays, followed by “CIA” and the unscripted series “Harlan Coben’s Final Twist.”

Wednesday and Friday lineups will remain unchanged. Additionally, CBS will maintain its popular Sunday night slot with “Marshals” and “Tracker” following the long-standing “60 Minutes.”

Conclusion

The CBS 2026-27 primetime lineup promises a mix of new content and reliable favorites. With intriguing new series like “Cupertino” leading the fall schedule, viewers can expect a diverse range of programming throughout the season.
