Four Suspects Arrested for Murder of Scottish Businessman in Kenya

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Scottish businessman in Kenya. The suspects, whose names are Bernard Mbusu, Isaac Kinoti Kobia, Evans Muthengi Mutaki, and Kelvin Mwangi Njoroge, were taken into custody during a police operation.

Details of the Arrest

The operation was conducted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in collaboration with the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CR&IB) and local police units from Nyali and Msambweni.

Location of the Arrest

  • The arrests took place at Ideal Apartments in Ukunda.
  • Authorities are investigating the suspects’ potential links to multiple violent robberies.

Forensic Evidence and Additional Crimes

Authorities reported that the suspects were also forensically connected to a violent robbery incident in Watamu, located in the Malindi Sub-County. This evidence adds to the gravity of the allegations against them.

Items Recovered

During the operation, police conducted a search at the suspects’ residence. The following items were seized:

  • An HP laptop
  • Multiple mobile phones
  • Assorted foreign currencies
  • Numerous credit cards
  • Cheque books from various banks
  • PDQ card reader machines

The arrests and subsequent findings underscore the ongoing efforts of Kenyan authorities to combat violent crime and ensure the safety of both residents and visitors in the region.
