Garou, known for his role in the musical “Notre-Dame de Paris,” described how his journey began during his initial visit to Paris. After arriving in Paris, he decided to travel to Morocco, where he played in a bar for a month. It was during this time that Garou faced a life-threatening incident, claiming he encountered a sorcerer.
“I almost died in Morocco,” Garou stated. “I had an incredible experience there. While performing, I ended up running into a sorcerer, and it was quite a wild situation.”

Following this encounter, Garou believes he was cast under a spell of success. He explained that about a week to ten days later, he returned to Paris to record his first-ever song, “Belle.” The song was a massive hit, becoming one of the best-selling singles of the 1990s in France.
