Perak Government Ensures Continuation of All Stage Bus Routes
Concerns about public transit have led the Perak government to ensure the continuation of all stage bus routes in the state. This includes the previously discontinued Kuala Kangsar-Lenggong-Gerik route. The announcement came from Datuk Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, the chairman of the Perak Infrastructure, Energy, Water, and Public Transport Committee.
Commitment to Public Transportation
Datuk Mohammad Nizar emphasized the importance of this service, especially for students reliant on buses for commuting to school. The Kuala Kangsar-Lenggong-Gerik route had been suspended but was reinstated promptly after complaints were raised about its discontinuation.
Future Route Developments
In addition to maintaining existing routes, the Perak government is planning to introduce new bus services. These routes will cover key areas including:
- Tanjung Tualang
- Kampung Timah
- Tronoh Mines
- Gopeng
- Kopisan
- Kampar
These proposed routes are pending approval from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).
Community Impact
The discontinuation of the Kuala Kangsar-Lenggong-Gerik bus service had a significant impact on residents, particularly students. The local community had voiced their concerns, pushing for the service’s reinstatement, which was vital for their daily activities.
Overall, the Perak government’s decisive action reflects its commitment to maintaining essential public transport services, ensuring accessibility for all residents.
