Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Allegedly Engages in Physical Altercation with Queen’s Senior Aide

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been involved in a serious incident with a senior aide of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Reports indicate that he had a physical altercation with Vice-Admiral Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt. This incident arose after Mountbatten-Windsor was informed that a Pitch@Palace event could not be hosted at Buckingham Palace.

Details of the Altercation

The confrontation was characterized by a “kinetic” blow, shocking those present in the royal household. A senior staff member, speaking to royal author Robert Hardman, noted that the situation escalated when Mountbatten-Windsor refused to wait his turn for the event. Sir Tony, who has been in his role since 2013, reported the incident to Lord Chamberlain, Lord Peel, who subsequently informed the then Prince Charles about the matter.

Previous Incidents and Reputation

Allegations regarding Mountbatten-Windsor’s behavior have surfaced before. Previously arrested in February for suspected misconduct in public office, this latest incident adds to a troubling pattern.

  • Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly confronted a driver harshly while riding in Windsor, demanding to know their identity.
  • He disregarded advice before recording a controversial Newsnight interview in 2019, which highlighted his ties with Jeffrey Epstein.

Lord Peel described Mountbatten-Windsor as believing he was superior to others in the household. In January 2022, he was stripped of his military roles and lost his HRH title, following a legal dispute with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of assault.

Public Response

After these incidents, Mountbatten-Windsor was seen in public for the first time since his arrest on March 22. He was photographed walking his dogs around his new residence, Marsh Farm, located on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. Both Buckingham Palace and Mountbatten-Windsor have been approached for comments regarding these events.
