Regime Change Kicks Off the Week

Monday and Tuesday will bring a sudden drop in temperatures across the region, marking a notable weather shift. Although the changes aren’t drastic, the air will feel significantly colder.

Upcoming Cold Snap

Forecasters predict temperatures will dip below 0ºC on Monday and Tuesday. In Chibougamau, the perceived temperature could plummet as low as -21ºC.

Regional Temperature Forecast

  • Montreal: Near freezing temperatures
  • Saguenay: Expected -4ºC
  • Val-d’Or: Expected -9ºC, feeling like -16ºC
  • Chibougamau: Expected -12ºC, feeling like -21ºC
  • Saint-Anicet: Anticipated warmth of 20ºC by Friday

Despite the chill, snow flurries are possible in some regions. Meteorologist Alexandra Giroux noted that traces of snow could appear where rain fell over the weekend.

Weather Patterns and Trends

The good news is that temperatures will begin to rise again by Thursday, allowing residents to transition back into spring attire. The fluctuating temperatures highlight the unpredictable nature of the early spring season.

As we prepare for the cold, it’s essential not to stow away winter gear just yet. Hats and mittens will be necessary on Tuesday, but warmer days are expected to return shortly thereafter.
