Charity Expands Free Holiday Camp Spaces in Milton Keynes

In a commendable initiative, MK Dons FC’s charity has partnered with The George Baldock Foundation to expand access to free holiday camps in Milton Keynes. This program aims to support underprivileged families during the Easter holiday by providing free football camp spaces.

Free Holiday Camp Expansion in Milton Keynes

During the first week of the Easter break, the MK Dons Community Trust will offer 50 free spaces at Tattenhoe Sports Pavilion each day. Participants will receive a hot meal, a George Baldock Foundation branded football, and a t-shirt to take home. Additionally, children will have the opportunity to meet first-team players and club mascots Donnie and Mooie.

Success from Previous Fundraising Efforts

This initiative follows a successful fundraising dinner held at Stadium MK in November, which raised funds to create free spots for 120 families. As a response to the financial pressures many families face, the program ensures that children can enjoy essential experiences during school holidays.

Broader Initiative Spreading to Sheffield

The George Baldock Foundation’s efforts are not limited to MK Dons. A similar program is also being launched in Sheffield by Sheffield United Community Foundation, providing free camp spaces for children during the same period.

Message from Sam Baldock

Sam Baldock, the brother of George Baldock, founded The George Baldock Foundation last summer. He emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for children in both Milton Keynes and Sheffield. “Opportunity means everything,” Baldock stated. He expressed pride in working with MK Dons Community Trust and Sheffield United to make holiday camps accessible.

Essential Life Skills Development

Hannah Bladen, Head of Community Development at MK Dons Community Trust, highlighted that holiday camps help develop vital skills. These include teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and friendship building. She thanked The George Baldock Foundation for facilitating such essential opportunities for local children this Easter.
