Gauthier Misses Ducks Game Against Sharks: NHL Status Update

An injury has sidelined Anaheim Ducks forward Cutter Gauthier for their upcoming game against the San Jose Sharks.
Gauthier’s Injury Update
Gauthier has a lower-body injury and will not participate in the game scheduled for Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. The match will be available on HBO MAX, truTV, and TNT.
Before his injury, Gauthier scored a goal in the first period of a recent game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, he left the game due to his injury, and the Ducks ultimately lost 5-4 in overtime.
Performance Highlights
In the current season, Gauthier has been a standout player for the Ducks. He leads the team with 38 goals and 65 points, having played 73 games thus far.
Ducks coach Joel Quenneville provided an update on Gauthier, stating, “He’s not ready for Wednesday, but we don’t think he’ll be out too long.” He added that Gauthier is considered questionable for the weekend games against the Blues and Flames.
Roster Changes
In a move to bolster their roster, the Ducks have signed forward Roger McQueen to an amateur tryout agreement. McQueen is currently with the team’s American Hockey League affiliate in San Diego.
- McQueen was the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
- He earned the title of Hockey East Rookie of the Year.
- McQueen was also named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team.
- This season, he recorded 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) in 36 games at Providence College.
The Ducks continue to navigate the challenges of injuries and roster adjustments as they prepare for the games ahead.
