Windward Islands Anglican Synod to Convene in Grenada

The Windward Islands Anglican Synod is set to take place in Grenada from October 6 to October 8, 2025. This significant event will mark the 39th triennial assembly of the Diocese of the Windward Islands.

Details of the Synod

The opening ceremony will feature a celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the first day. Business sessions will occur at the Grenada Trade Centre Annexe located in Morne Rouge, Grand Anse, St. George’s.

Theme for the 2025 Synod

This year, the synod’s theme is “The Church At A Crossroads: Inspiring, Rebirth, Commitment, and Community Through Creative and Authentic Ministry.” This theme emphasizes renewal and engagement within the church community.

Participants

  • Clergy and lay representatives from three Archdeaconries:
    • St. Vincent and the Grenadines
    • Grenada (including Carriacou and Petite Martinique)
    • St. Lucia

The synod, which convenes every three years, focuses on discussions regarding the future mission and outreach of the church, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among its members.

Leadership

The Rt. Rev’d C. Leopold Friday, the Bishop of the Windward Islands, will chair the upcoming synod. His leadership will guide the discussions and initiatives proposed during this important gathering.

This event is not only a critical moment for church governance but also a platform for spiritual renewal and community building across the dioceses involved.
