Improvements to AccèsD Credit Card Balances
Following significant user dissatisfaction, Desjardins announced that customers will once again have access to real-time balance updates for their credit cards. The cooperative will retain the default display of only confirmed transactions but will also offer an estimated available credit feature.
User-Centric Changes
According to a spokesperson, “The Mouvement Desjardins has listened to customer feedback and is implementing enhancements to the credit card balance display in AccèsD.” These enhancements will allow users to view:
- Charged balance
- Pending transactions
- Estimated credit used
- Available credit
This update marks a significant shift back to a more familiar format for cardholders, who previously relied on this comprehensive view.
Previous Changes and User Reaction
Last week, Desjardins made adjustments that limited balance visibility to only charged amounts. This approach was described as the “most reliable” method, deliberately excluding pre-authorized transactions such as deposits for hotel stays or gas pump authorizations. However, this decision was met with backlash from users, prompting a petition that gathered over 16,000 signatures in support of reverting to the previous display.

The Desjardins mobile application is set to receive updates shortly. Users can expect to find these changes in the App Store and Google Play Store within the next few days.
