Blue Jays Reveal 26-Man Roster for Opening Day Debut

The Blue Jays have officially unveiled their 26-man roster ahead of the season opener against the Athletics. This announcement was made on Wednesday, with the first game scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. ET.

Injury Updates and Roster Moves

To accommodate injuries, several roster adjustments were announced. Pitchers Jose Berrios, Shane Bieber, Yimi Garcia, and Trey Yesavage have been placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 22. Additionally, outfielder Anthony Santander has been added to the 10-day injured list.

On the roster front, right-hander Chase Lee has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. Meanwhile, Angel Bastardo and Leo Jimenez were designated for assignment.

Exciting Additions to the Blue Jays

The Blue Jays have welcomed several new players to the team, which previously reached Game 7 of the World Series. Pitcher Dylan Cease, who recently signed a record-breaking seven-year, $210 million contract, headlines this new group. Cease is set to make his Blue Jays debut Saturday against the Athletics.

Other notable additions include pitchers Cody Ponce, Tyler Rogers, and Spencer Miles, a Rule 5 pick from the San Francisco Giants. The position-player lineup will also feature third baseman Kazuma Okamoto and outfielder Jesus Sanchez, who are expected to provide additional offensive strength.
