Gad Elmaleh to Share Literary Inspirations on France Inter

Gad Elmaleh, the renowned 54-year-old comedian, is set to host a literary program on France Inter. This initiative is temporary, featuring two episodes of “Admirations littéraires.” In this show, public figures read and discuss literary works that resonate with them.

Upcoming Episodes of “Admirations Littéraires”

Elmaleh’s first episode will air on March 29 at 19:20. He will explore spiritual themes through classic texts. Featured authors include:

  • Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
  • Thibault de Montaigu
  • Frédéric Beigbeder
  • Sylvain Tesson

In the following week, on April 5, coinciding with Easter Sunday, Elmaleh will address the theme of identity. He will focus on Romain Gary’s work, “La promesse de l’aube.”

A Legacy of Literary Hosts

Gad Elmaleh takes over from a series of distinguished personalities. From September 2024, Fabrice Luchini hosted the program for seven months, highlighting his favorite authors like:

  • Louis-Ferdinand Céline
  • Victor Hugo
  • Charles Baudelaire
  • Henri de Saint-Simon
  • Friedrich Nietzsche

Following Luchini, writer François Sureau showcased texts from notable figures such as Jean Giono and Marguerite Yourcenar. Other prominent guests have included Sophie Marceau, who celebrated the works of Thomas Bernhard and Christian Bobin, as well as Denis Podalydès, Arielle Dombasle, and Jacques Weber, who read works from Annie Ernaux and Edmond Rostand.

Elmaleh’s participation promises to bring a fresh and engaging perspective to the show, attracting both literary enthusiasts and fans of his comedic artistry.
