Patna Enhances Eid Security with Magistrates at 442 Locations

In preparation for the upcoming Eid celebrations, the Patna district administration is enhancing security measures. On Thursday, District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S M and Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K Sharma announced a comprehensive security plan. This initiative includes the deployment of magistrates and police personnel at 442 strategic locations across the district.

Distribution of Security Personnel

The security deployment will cover several key areas, ensuring safety and order during the festivities:

  • Patna Sadar: 65 locations
  • Patna City: 153 locations
  • Danapur: 79 locations
  • Barh: 59 locations
  • Masaurhi: 39 locations
  • Paliganj: 47 locations

Enhanced Security Measures

Each duty point will be staffed with armed personnel, and quick response teams are on standby. The Magistrate emphasized that strict measures will be adopted against anti-social elements and individuals spreading false information on social media. This will be enforced under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

Operational Control and Support

A 24/7 district control room has been activated along with dedicated emergency and police helpline numbers. As part of the arrangements, 26 reserve magistrates will work in three shifts at various control rooms, including:

  • 11 magistrates at Gandhi Maidan
  • 18 magistrates in Patna City

Access and Facilities

A temporary police station has been established at Gandhi Maidan. Devotees will enter through designated gates, while vehicles will be permitted through specific entrances for parking. Medical teams and ambulances are stationed at Gandhi Maidan, with hospitals in the area—including IGIMS, PMCH, NMCH, AIIMS, and Guru Gobind Singh Hospital—on high alert.

Essential Services Coordination

The Patna Municipal Corporation and PHED have been instructed to arrange for water tankers and ensure ATM availability. Fire brigades will also be present at major locations throughout the district.

Oversight and Accountability

Sub-divisional officers and local police will monitor their respective areas. The Additional District Magistrate (law and order) and both city and rural Superintendents of Police are tasked with supervising the overall arrangements. This coordinated effort aims to ensure a peaceful and orderly Eid celebration in Patna.
