Former Bloc MP Arrested in Quebec for Sexual Misconduct in Authority Role

Former Bloc Québécois MP Pascal-Pierre Paillé, 47, has been arrested in Quebec amid a sexual misconduct investigation involving minors. The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) apprehended him on Tuesday morning in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.
Charges Against Pascal-Pierre Paillé
Paillé faces several serious allegations, including:
- Sexual assault in a position of authority
- Sexual contact
- Aggravated sexual assault
He is scheduled to appear in court later today at the Quebec City courthouse. The Centro de servicios scolaire de la Capitale confirmed that Paillé has been suspended for over a month due to these distressing allegations.
Details of the Allegations
According to SPVQ, the alleged misconduct occurred during two separate incidents. The first incident reportedly happened between January 1 and June 25, 2006, involving a student. The second incident took place in August 2024.
In a recent interview, a source disclosed information regarding the allegations against Paillé. This source, referred to as Mathys, shared his experience of engaging with Paillé via the Grindr app. Mathys, then 14 years old, first communicated with Paillé, who falsely presented himself as a secondary school teacher in his thirties.
First Encounter
During their initial meeting in a public setting, Mathys and Paillé did not engage in any sexual activity. They later arranged a second meeting, where Paillé picked Mathys up in a black Jeep with white stars on the doors. This encounter led to sexual relations occurring inside a secluded area in northern Quebec.
Mathys disclosed that while Paillé asked to see his identification, he feigned having left his ID at home. They proceeded to engage in sexual activity that Mathys described as “complete and consensual.”
Consequences and Regrets
In the following days, Mathys sought to meet Paillé again, expressing anxiety about the situation. He expressed his concerns about the legality of their interactions, saying, “At that time, I didn’t know it was illegal.”
On September 3, 2024, Mathys unexpectedly encountered Paillé at Neufchâtel Secondary School, where Paillé was contracted for adaptive teaching. This confrontation prompted Mathys to confront the emotional weight of keeping such a significant secret.
Decision to Report
Struggling with the incident, Mathys eventually confided in a trusted adult, who expressed shock at the gravity of the situation. Following a discussion with Mathys’s mother, they decided to report the matter to the police.
Mathys has encouraged others who may have experienced similar situations to come forward, emphasizing the importance of speaking out against such misconduct.
