Houma TV Station’s New Video Sparks Serious Questions in Kyren Lacy Crash

Recent footage released by Houma TV Station HTV has raised critical questions concerning the fatal crash involving former LSU football player Kyren Lacy. The video suggests a different scenario than the one previously described by investigators, indicating that Lacy was not weaving in front of the vehicles to provoke a crisis.

Details of the Incident

The crash, which occurred last year, resulted in the death of Herman Hall. An interview aired on October 3, 2025, featured Lacy’s attorney, Matthew Ory, who emphasized that Lacy could not be held accountable for the incident. Ory asserted that the evidence does not support claims that Lacy’s actions were the direct cause of the crash.

Video Evidence and Statements

  • The HTV interview included body camera footage from a state trooper advising a witness on report details.
  • Ory referenced a section of the crash report connected to the District Attorney’s office.
  • The report stated that Lacy had no way of knowing his conduct resulted in the collision, which occurred approximately 72 yards ahead of him.

Lacy’s defense has consistently maintained his innocence. Following the accident, he drove away without assisting the victims or reporting the incident.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Crash

In January 2025, State Police reported that Lacy was attempting to illegally pass other vehicles when a driver in a northbound pickup truck suddenly braked and swerved to avoid a collision. A 2017 Kia Cadenza, traveling behind the pickup, also swerved left to evade the approaching Dodge Charger. Unfortunately, this maneuver led to a head-on crash with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento.

Aftermath of the Collision

Following the collision, Hall, who was a passenger in the Kia Sorento, suffered severe injuries and ultimately died after being taken to a hospital. State Police arrested Lacy months later, and he passed away in April 2025 in Houston.

As the investigation unfolds, the implications of this new video raise concerns about the accuracy of earlier reports and the responsibilities of drivers involved in serious accidents.
