Michael Skubala has been awarded the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for February, marking his second consecutive win. This achievement highlights his team’s impressive performance throughout the month. The Imps maintained their unbeaten record, winning four matches and drawing one, with a total of 19 goals scored.
Skubala’s Recognition
This latest accolade brings Skubala’s total to three Manager of the Month awards for the 2025/26 season, having previously been recognized in both September and January. Following this achievement, Skubala emphasized the importance of teamwork in their success. He stated, “February was a great month for us. However, we know there’s a lot of football still to be played.” He urged his team to maintain their high standards moving forward.
Acknowledgment of Team Efforts
Sporting director Jez George praised Skubala’s accomplishment, noting it reflects the club’s collective effort and dedication. He highlighted the contributions of the technical team, including Chris Cohen, Tom Shaw, and David Preece. George also commended analysts Mason Cook and George Bush, who play crucial roles behind the scenes, though they may not receive public recognition.
The Role of Collaboration
- Michael fosters a collaborative environment.
- Every staff member contributes their expertise.
- The club’s culture prioritizes collective success over individual recognition.
George emphasized the unity across the club, from the medical and sports science departments led by Josh Snowden and Kieran Walker to the recruitment and operations teams managed by Joe Hutchison, Adam Thurston, and Matt Murgett. This collaboration has been vital to the football department’s achievements at the Gen 2 Energy Elite Performance Centre.
Skubala’s recent accolade not only celebrates his leadership but also underscores the commitment and hard work of the entire club, working together towards shared goals.
