Atalaya Museums to Host 20th Anniversary Gala for Wine and Brandy Route

The Asociación Rutas del Vino y del Brandy del Marco de Jerez is gearing up for a significant milestone. In 2026, the association will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Established on July 30, 2006, it has played a crucial role in promoting enotourism in the region.

Commitment from Local Authorities

Jerez’s mayor, María José García-Pelayo, reaffirmed the city’s unwavering support for the association during its recent General Assembly. The assembly, held at the headquarters of the Regulatory Council, saw a strong presence from key figures such as César Saldaña, José Luis Baños, and Fulgencio Meseguer.

García-Pelayo highlighted the partnership between the municipality and the association. She stated, “The City Council is a committed partner to this Route, and every initiative you propose is also ours.” She emphasized the synergies between the anniversary celebrations and the gastronomic capital of the region.

Celebrating Two Decades of Enotourism

The upcoming General Assembly in 2026 aims to outline projects and activities to mark the 20th anniversary. Notably, the association plans to organize a gala at the Atalaya Museums. This event is a key part of a strategy to enhance visibility for a route that was the most visited in Spain in 2024, attracting 425,000 visitors.

Plans and Initiatives for the 20th Anniversary

To maximize the anniversary’s impact, several initiatives have been proposed:

  • Conducting a press trip for journalists focused on tourism and enology.
  • Launching promotional social media campaigns.
  • Creating commemorative souvenirs.
  • Updating the logo and corporate image of the Route.

These efforts will be part of an annual campaign designed to enhance both national and international visibility for the Marco de Jerez. A second Accessibility Study is also planned, continuing the work that began in 2024, alongside advancements in the internal management platform.

Enhancing the Quality of Enotourism

The association is focused on promoting specialized training and improving the quality of enotourism offerings. Since its inception, the association has sought to unify and structure the tourism experience around the enological resources of the Marco de Jerez.

Community Support and Collaboration

Numerous local agents participate in this initiative, including wineries, hotels, and cultural sites throughout the region. The association has garnered support from various municipal councils and the Regulatory Councils of Wine and Brandy, responding to the demand for quality enotourism.

This collaborative effort has effectively positioned the Marco de Jerez as a premier enotourism destination worldwide. The route’s establishment has not only increased visitor numbers but also enhanced the brand image, successfully merging traditional winemaking with innovative tourism strategies.
