The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for Kolkata and surrounding districts, predicting light rain and thunderstorms on March 9 and March 10. Areas affected include Howrah, Hooghly, and the 24 Parganas.

On Sunday morning, Kolkata recorded a minimum temperature of 23.9°C, which is 2.2°C above the seasonal average. The maximum temperature on Saturday was registered at 31.4°C, marking a 1.6°C decrease from the normal range.

Weather Conditions for March 9-10

The forecast indicates partly cloudy skies on Tuesday, with the potential for thunderstorms and lightning. Additionally, relative humidity levels reached a maximum of 96% and a minimum of 55% recently.

The IMD has also forecasted rainfall in various districts of West Bengal, including:

  • Jhargram
  • Bankura
  • East Burdwan

  • Jalpaiguri

Warnings for Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts are valid from Monday through Wednesday.
