Quebec’s Igloofest Launch Draws Crowd Despite Bitter Cold

Despite the frigid temperatures, music enthusiasts flocked to the fourth edition of Igloofest in Quebec City. The festival launched on Thursday evening at Place Jean-Béliveau, running through Saturday. Attendees expressed excitement about this annual winter electronic music event, which has become a staple for many.

Festival-goers, like Frédéric Thibault, described Igloofest as a unique winter experience. Thibault mentioned, “There are no comparable events in winter, so it’s fun to enjoy electronic music during this season.” His friend, Béatrice Drouin, added, “Despite the cold, we warm up while dancing.”
Notable Performances
The festival kicked off with a performance by Audrey Bélanger, who opened the evening at 7 PM. The highlight of the night was the duo Disclosure, marking their first appearance in Quebec City. They were preceded by 1tbsp, the dance/electro project of Australian artist Maxwell Byrne.
Anticipation builds for additional performances over the weekend, including renowned DJ Chris Lake, also making his debut in Quebec City.
