The Gleaner Arena in Elgin is set to host free activities for teenagers this Friday evening. The event encourages local youth engagement and provides a platform for recreational activities.
Activities Available for Moray Teens
The Friday sessions at the Gleaner Arena will feature a variety of activities, including:
- Football
- Netball
- A double-decker bus equipped with computer consoles and DJ mixing desks
This initiative is open to boys and girls under the age of 18. The program will continue on the last Friday of every month until the end of October.
Community Impact and Support
Dave Allen, a key figure behind the Gleaner Arena, is also involved in the Community Alcohol Partnership. This organization aims to combat underage drinking in the area. Allen emphasizes the initiative’s goal of providing constructive activities for youth in Moray.
“There will be refreshments available in the new pavilion, creating a space for socialization not just for teens but for families and spectators as well,” Allen stated. “We hope the Gleaner Arena will be the first of many such projects throughout Moray.”
Event Schedule
The free Friday evening sessions will run from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. This program is part of a broader initiative, supported by Police Scotland, Active Schools, Moray Council, and local businesses.
The AYE bus, a mobile youth center that began its operations in November, will further enhance youth engagement in the region.
Join the activities at the Gleaner Arena and make the most of this exciting opportunity for teens in Moray.
