Two acclaimed chefs from the Upper West Side have recently achieved semifinalist status for the prestigious James Beard Award. This recognition highlights their culinary contributions in a highly competitive landscape.

The James Beard Awards are among the highest honors in the culinary arts. This year, the semifinalists were announced, and among them are Christophe Bellanca and Kwame Onwuachi. The winners will be revealed on March 31, with the ceremony scheduled for June 15 in Chicago.

Kwame Onwuachi of Tatiana

Tatiana was celebrated as the best restaurant in New York City for two consecutive years before dropping to 10th place in 2025 according to The New York Times. Onwuachi was also honored as the James Beard “Rising Star Chef” in 2019.
