As the Buffalo Bills search for a new head coach following Sean McDermott’s dismissal, three prominent candidates have emerged. The team is set to interview three coaches who have previous connections to the franchise.
Candidates for the Head Coach Position
Anthony Lynn
Anthony Lynn is currently the running backs coach and run game coordinator for the Washington Commanders. He previously served on the Bills’ coaching staff under Rex Ryan. Lynn became the interim offensive coordinator after Ryan’s departure late in the 2016 season.
During his tenure as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, Lynn compiled a record of 33 wins and 31 losses over four seasons. He also made a single playoff appearance with a record of 1-1.
Joe Brady
Joe Brady, who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Bills, is also on the interview list. He has been a candidate for multiple head coaching positions in recent years, reflecting his growing reputation in the coaching community.
Brian Daboll
Brian Daboll, a former offensive coordinator for the Bills from 2018 to 2021, is another target for the team’s search. He previously served as the head coach of the New York Giants and is being considered for both head coaching and offensive coordinator roles.
