Officers responded to a weapon threat call and encountered the suspect, who opened fire, injuring both officers. The suspect fled the scene, prompting a large-scale manhunt by multiple police units.
Search Efforts and Community Involvement
Detectives are currently focusing their efforts on the Sullivan’s Gulch neighborhood, particularly between Northeast 15th and Northeast 19th Avenues, extending from Northeast Broadway to Northeast Multnomah Street. They believe that private security and doorbell cameras may have captured vital footage that could aid in identifying the shooter.
- Community members are encouraged to upload any video recorded between 7:00 p.m. on January 19 and 7:00 a.m. on January 20.
- No need for individuals to review or edit the footage; uploading raw video is sufficient.

Community cooperation is essential, and PPB emphasizes the importance of unaltered footage for investigation. If individuals have any footage from surveillance or doorbell cameras that show public areas, they are urged to contribute.
