Silifke Chief Prosecutor Ahmet Akyıldız Joins ‘Photo of the Year’ Vote

Silipke’s Chief Prosecutor, Ahmet Akyıldız, recently participated in the annual “Photo of the Year” voting organized by Anadolu Agency (AA). This year, the voting highlights significant events of 2025 through photography.
2025 Photo of the Year Voting Details
The competition features a total of 112 photographs across six categories. These are significant glimpses into Turkey and global events, sponsored by Lifebox, AJet, and ROKETSAN. Akyıldız reviewed a selection of images captured by AA’s photographers.
Categories and Winning Selections
- Gazze: Açlık – Mahmoud Abu Hamda’s photo, “Humanitarian Aid Delivered to Gaza from the Air”
- Portre – Cem Özdel’s photo titled “Chance Encounter”
- Haber – Hakan Akgün’s entry featuring “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles”
- Spor – Esra Bilgin’s photo “Alperen”
- Doğal Yaşam ve Çevre – Emin Yoğurtcuoğlu’s work, “Hunter and Prey”
- Günlük Hayat – İsa Terli’s piece titled “Full Moon Delight”
Voting Process
This year’s “Photo of the Year” voting encompasses four main categories: News, Natural Life and Environment, Sports, and Daily Life, alongside two special categories: “Gazze: Açlık” and “Portrait.” Participants can vote for as many photos as they wish.
The voting will remain open until Sunday, February 15, at 5:00 PM. Those interested in casting their votes can do so on the dedicated website: yilinkareleri.aa.com.tr.
Since its inception in 2012, the “Photo of the Year” competition has become a prominent event that showcases remarkable photography and the storytelling power of images.
