OpenAI Leak Reveals Upcoming ChatGPT Features

OpenAI is set to enhance its ChatGPT web application with new features in the upcoming weeks. These updates aim to improve user experience and functionality.

Upcoming Features for ChatGPT

As reported by AI researcher Tibor Blaho on social media platform X, the update introduces several noteworthy features:

  • Feature Codenamed “Salute”: This feature enables users to create tasks that include file uploads and track their progress.
  • “Is Model Preferred” Flag: This functionality may allow ChatGPT to select a model optimized for local business, restaurant, and hotel-related search results in business map widgets.
  • Secure Tunnel for MCP Servers: The new secure tunnel connects internal MCP servers to OpenAI through a customer-hosted tunnel client using outbound-only HTTPS, which eliminates the need for inbound firewall adjustments.
  • Inline Editable Code and Math Blocks: Users can expect the addition of editable blocks for code and mathematical expressions, similar to recently introduced writing blocks.

Enhanced Formatting Tool

Along with these features, OpenAI has revised its formatting capabilities. A new “formatting block” has been integrated, serving as a mini editor toolbar. This tool appears when users highlight text in ChatGPT’s rich-text arenas, such as emails or draft writings.

The rollout of these updates indicates OpenAI’s commitment to improving ChatGPT’s functionality. Users can look forward to a more versatile and user-friendly experience soon.
