Bloomington House Fire Claims Two Lives

Two lives were tragically lost in a house fire early Sunday morning in Bloomington. The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. on the 3800 block of East Anderson Road, as reported by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Details of the Incident
Local authorities received multiple emergency calls regarding a fire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a vehicle had crashed into the attached garage of the house, which was engulfed in flames.
Victims and Casualties
Emergency responders encountered an individual with severe burns who had managed to escape the fire. Both this person and another individual providing assistance were transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, and later to a hospital in Indianapolis for further treatment.
As the response team continued their search, they located two additional residents. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Bloomington Police Department and Indiana State Police, found a person of interest in a nearby wooded area.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have indicated that charges are pending as the investigation proceeds. The individual in custody is being treated at Eskenazi Hospital due to injuries sustained during the fire.
The Monroe County Coroner’s Office will disclose the names of the deceased individuals in due course.
