Authorities in Pennsylvania have uncovered a shocking case of grave robbery involving over 100 human skulls and mummified body parts. This investigation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Jonathan Christ Gerlach, who is accused of targeting Mount Moriah Cemetery, the largest abandoned burial ground in the United States.

The investigation began months ago, focusing on a series of break-ins at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Since early November, at least 26 mausoleums and vaults had been illegally accessed.
On a Tuesday night, police discovered disturbing evidence while inspecting Gerlach’s vehicle. Bones and skulls were visible in the back seat, prompting further investigation into his activities.
Discovery of Remains
Following the vehicle discovery, authorities searched Gerlach’s home in Ephrata and a nearby storage unit. The search yielded:
