Alabama Star Receiver to Enter Transfer Portal
Isaiah Horton, a standout receiver from Alabama, has announced his intention to enter the transfer portal. Horton revealed his decision on Thursday, marking the end of his one-season tenure with the Crimson Tide.
Season Overview and Performance
During the 2025 season, Horton enjoyed a productive campaign with Alabama. He recorded 42 receptions for 511 yards and scored eight touchdowns. This followed a previous season at Miami in 2024, where he accumulated 56 catches for 616 yards and five touchdowns.
Impact on Alabama’s Receiving Corps
Horton played a significant role for Alabama, starting in 11 games and participating in 601 total snaps. His departure leaves the team with only one returning starter: Ryan Williams. The remaining receiver positions will include:
- Lotzeir Brooks
- Rico Scott
- Derek Meadows
Notably, Germie Bernard will pursue the NFL Draft after exhausting his eligibility. Additionally, Cole Adams, Jaylen Mbakwe, and Jalen Hale have entered the transfer portal. Rico Scott initially planned to transfer but decided to stay with the team.
Future Prospects for Alabama
As Alabama looks to the future, they are set to welcome in-state receiver Cederian Morgan as part of their recruiting class. The transfer portal remains open until January 16, providing a crucial opportunity for teams ahead of the 2026 season.
With ongoing changes, Alabama’s football program is actively adjusting to maintain competitiveness in the upcoming season.
