Browns Seek Interview with Ravens Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken

Following the dismissal of Kevin Stefanski, the Cleveland Browns are actively seeking a new head coach. They have submitted a request to interview Todd Monken, who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.
The Candidate: Todd Monken
Todd Monken, 59, has been with the Ravens for the past three seasons. Under his leadership, Baltimore’s offense has shown significant improvements:
- No. 6 in yards (2021)
- No. 1 in yards (2022)
- No. 16 in yards (2023)
- No. 4 in points (2021)
- No. 3 in points (2022)
- No. 11 in points (2023)
Before joining the Ravens, Monken served as the offensive coordinator for the Browns in 2019, a season marked by challenges under head coach Freddie Kitchens, who was responsible for play-calling.
Monken’s Coaching Background
Monken has an extensive coaching history at both the college and professional levels. He was the head coach at Southern Miss from 2013 to 2015, where he recorded a 13-25 record. His last season there was notable, as he led the team to a 9-5 record and a bowl appearance.
Additionally, Monken earned recognition as the 2015 Conference USA Coach of the Year. After leaving Southern Miss, he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as their offensive coordinator.
Browns’ Coaching Search
The Browns’ decision to pursue Monken reflects their commitment to enhancing their offensive strategy moving forward. With his proven track record, Monken could be a strong contender to lead Cleveland in the upcoming season. The franchise aims to identify the best candidate to help them achieve their goals.
This search marks a significant turning point for the franchise as they seek to improve their performance in the highly competitive AFC North.
