The Round Rock Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred on New Year’s Eve, resulting in injuries to five juveniles. This incident took place at the Platinum Event Center, located at 1600 Chisholm Trail Road.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. during a physical altercation at a party. The five juveniles suffered gunshot wounds and were promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, all injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.
Victims and Circumstances
- Three victims are residents of Pflugerville.
- Two victims hail from Austin.
- The party reportedly involved underage drinking.
- The violence stemmed from a viral social media flyer promoting the event.
Investigation Status
Authorities have indicated that this appears to be an isolated incident. There is currently no ongoing threat to public safety. However, as of now, no suspects are in custody, and the police investigation is still in progress.
