Broadcast Special

For those who may prefer to celebrate at home, CBC will host special New Year’s Eve broadcasts leading up to 2026. This ensures everyone can connect with the festivities, whether in person or remotely.

New Year’s Levee

Residents are invited to the New Year’s levee at Halifax City Hall on January 1. This event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will be hosted by Mayor Andy Fillmore, providing an opportunity to welcome the new year with light refreshments.

Transportation Updates

The Alderney ferry will operate with 30-minute intervals until 2 a.m. The final departures are scheduled at 1:30 a.m. from Alderney terminal and 1:45 a.m. from Halifax terminal. However, please note that the Woodside ferry will not operate on New Year’s Eve.
