Sony Pictures Television to Produce Miranda Lambert Series for Hulu; Neira as Showrunner

Sony Pictures Television is set to produce a new series inspired by the music of country superstar Miranda Lambert for Hulu. Titled as yet untitled, the project will be led by showrunner Judalina Neira, who is also attached as a writer and executive producer under her overall deal with Sony Pictures Television.
About the Series
This series is described as “Big Little Lies gone honky-tonk” and centers on a complicated female friendship. In the storyline, one friend assists another in escaping an abusive marriage. As they attempt to rebuild their lives in a small town in Texas, their past experiences resurface, revealing that their new environment is filled with secrets.
Miranda Lambert’s Role
- Miranda Lambert will serve as an executive producer on the series.
- She is represented by Shopkeeper Management and WME.
A Grammy Award Winner
Lambert, a three-time Grammy winner, is nominated for four awards at the 68th Grammy Awards, scheduled for February. Her nominations include:
- Best Contemporary Country Album for “Postcards from Texas.”
- Best Country Song for “A Song to Sing.”
- Best Country Duo/Group Performance for collaborations with Chris Stapleton and Reba McEntire & Lainey Wilson.
“Postcards from Texas” marks Lambert’s tenth solo studio album and continues her impressive record of ten consecutive Top 10s on the Top Country Albums chart.

Lambert holds the record as the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music Awards history, with 14 Country Music Association Awards to her name. Additionally, she has seven No. 1 solo albums and ten No. 1 singles on the country charts.
Judalina Neira’s Background
Judalina Neira is also developing a reimagining of “Bewitched” for Fox, where she serves as writer and executive producer. She has an extensive production background, having worked on notable series such as:

- “The Horror of Dolores Roach” for Prime Video.
- “The Morning Show” for Apple TV.
- “Gen V” for Prime Video.

Neira earned her first Emmy nomination in 2023 for her role as a supervising producer on “Daisy Jones & The Six.” A graduate of the WGA Showrunner Training Program and an alumnus of the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Series Scriptwriters Program, she is also a co-founder of La Lista, a networking group for Latina television writers.
