Due to icy roads and the threat of a flash freeze, all school bus transportation in the region has been suspended. This announcement was made by Algoma and Huron-Superior Student Transportation Services.
Areas Affected by School Bus Cancellations
All school-related transportation across various areas has been cancelled today. The specific locations impacted include:
- Sault Ste Marie Area
- Batchawana
- Goulais River
- Searchmont
- Northern Area: Wawa, White River, Chapleau, Dubreuilville, Hornepayne
- North Shore Area: Iron Bridge, Blind River, Elliot Lake, Spanish
- Central Algoma Area: Echo Bay, Bruce Mines, Desbarats, St. Joe Island, Thessalon
Additionally, Boissoneau Bus Lines Inc., which serves Garden River First Nation, will also cancel all school bus services for the day.
School Operations
Despite the cancellations, schools in the affected areas will remain open. However, families should note that there will be no transportation services available.
