Kory Harnum, the Manager of Community Relations for True North Sports + Entertainment, expressed gratitude toward the fans. “We would like to thank everyone who took the time to nominate their town or vote for the finalists,” Harnum stated. With over 12,500 votes cast, Gimli emerged victorious. Lenni Finnbogason, Recreation Programmer for the Rural Municipality of Gimli, shared his excitement about the community’s engagement. “The backbone of this community is the people, and to see us come together was very heartwarming,” he remarked.
