Winter Weather Advisory Issued for 7 Southeast Michigan Counties Due to Snow

A winter weather advisory has been issued for seven counties in Southeast Michigan due to forecasted snow. This advisory will remain in effect until 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

  • Oakland County
  • Macomb County
  • Genesee County
  • Lapeer County
  • Sanilac County
  • St. Clair County

Forecast Details

In the counties of Macomb, Oakland, and Livingston, residents can expect a mix of snow and rain through the morning hours. The precipitation will likely turn into snow by the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, these areas received between 3 to 5 inches of snow early Wednesday. An additional accumulation of up to 2 inches is anticipated later in the day.

Temperatures and Road Conditions

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing on Wednesday afternoon. Consequently, untreated surfaces may become icy, creating hazardous driving conditions.

Statewide Winter Weather Advisory

Several other counties across Michigan are also under a winter weather advisory due to the ongoing winter storm.
