The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center indicated that a winter storm threat is increasing across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions starting early next week. Snowfall is expected to commence late Monday evening, leading into Tuesday.

- Potential Maximum: Up to 5 inches in higher elevations of western Passaic and Sussex counties.
- Precipitation Type: Transition from snow in northern areas to rain in central and southern regions.

Counties north and west of the I-95 corridor could accumulate at least 1 inch of snow, marking the area’s first significant winter storm of the season. Coastal areas are predicted to see more rain than snow.

Prior to the arrival of the snow, a light rain is expected on Sunday. Rain is anticipated to start in the morning and spread across New Jersey by afternoon, with total rainfall estimates between 0.15 to 0.25 inches.
