Rimouski: Missing Professor Sparks Concern

Authorities in Rimouski are concerned about the whereabouts of Éric Avon, a 48-year-old professor. He has been missing since Monday afternoon. Avon is a well-known figure at Cégep de Rimouski, where he served as a professor and previously coached the school’s football team.
Details of the Search for Éric Avon
Éric Avon was last seen around 1:10 PM on Monday. Witnesses reported that he was walking south on Saint-Louis Street in Rimouski. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) has stepped in to assist with the search.
Community Concern
Frédéric Deshaies, a spokesperson for the SQ, stated that Avon’s family is worried about his safety. In response to his disappearance, a major police operation was launched near the Cégep de Rimouski. Classes were suspended for the day to facilitate the search efforts.
