Light-Up Holiday Train to Tour Metro Detroit in 2025: Dates Announced

A beloved holiday tradition is set to illuminate Metro Detroit in 2025. The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will embark on its tour beginning November 19, making its way through various regions in Canada and the U.S.

The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railroad company has announced the train’s schedule to pass through Metro Detroit. While it will not make any official stops in Michigan, it is expected to travel through the area on November 22 and 23, 2025. The train will journey from Windsor, Ontario, heading toward Illinois.

The Holiday Train’s route includes several cities as it travels toward Ohio. The anticipated path through Metro Detroit is as follows:
- Detroit
- Melvindale
- Allen Park
- Romulus
- Milan
- Adrian
Event in Windsor
The nearest event to the Metro Detroit area will take place in Windsor on November 22, from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This occasion will feature performances by Smash Mouth and JJ Wilde.
Continuing the Journey
After the Windsor event, the train will head to Illinois for another performance on November 23, between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. CST. Notably, while there will be no holiday event in Metro Detroit itself, the train may still be lit up as it passes by, depending on the time of day.

Since its inception in 1999, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has significantly contributed to local communities. It has raised over $26 million and gathered approximately 5.4 million pounds of food for food banks across Canada and the United States.
