Originally featured on Smith’s 1990 album, “Go West Young Man,” “Agnus Dei” draws inspiration from Revelation 19:6. Over the years, this beloved worship song has been recorded numerous times, becoming a staple in many churches worldwide. Smith reflects on the song’s inception, recalling how it “literally fell out of the sky” while he was writing for his church.

Chris Brown’s Perspective

Chris Brown, a founding member of Elevation Worship, shares his connection to the song. He has fond memories of “Agnus Dei” from his childhood and acknowledges its emotional resonance. Brown emphasizes the importance of creating a worshipful atmosphere, hoping that listeners feel God’s presence whether in a church setting or their daily lives.
