U.S. Africa Command Leader Highlights Lasting Partnership in Morocco Visit
On October 20-21, 2025, U.S. Africa Command Commander Gen. Dagvin Anderson visited Morocco. This visit highlighted the ongoing partnership between the United States and the Kingdom of Morocco.

Anderson’s trip followed his recent assumption of command and focused on strengthening ties with key Moroccan leaders. During his stay, he met with Moroccan officials, including:
- Minister Delegate to the Head of Government for National Defense Administration Abdellatif Loudiyi
- Inspector General of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces Gen. Mohammed Berrid
The discussions emphasized the long history of military cooperation between the two nations. Anderson noted the strategies that have ensured mutual support and proactive cooperation in security and prosperity.
Key Activities during the Visit
One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of Ben Guerir Air Base. Anderson observed areas dedicated to:
- African Partner Flight Training
- F-16 training
- Airborne and Special Operations Forces training
The air base serves as a central hub for multinational exercises, including the prominent African Lion exercise. This underscores the versatility of the U.S.-Morocco partnership.
