DFDS Scraps Summer Inter-Island Ferry Plans

DFDS has announced the cancellation of its summer inter-island ferry plans, effectively scrapping the additional sailings originally scheduled for this season. The ferry operator had planned to provide extra routes on selective dates throughout July and August.
Schedule Changes for Summer 2023
Originally, DFDS aimed to enhance connectivity between islands by introducing new ferry sailings on:
- 6 July
- 20 July
- 3 August
- 17 August
- 24 August
In addition, there was an extra sailing planned for 2 July. This particular sailing was in direct response to increased demand from passengers heading to the prestigious Le Mans 24-hour motorsport event in France.
Future Possibilities
Despite the recent decision to scrap the summer plans, DFDS has expressed its openness to future discussions regarding inter-island connectivity. The operator believes there is significant value in enhancing transportation links between the islands. This commitment suggests a potential reconsideration of service enhancements in the future.
