Princess of Wales to Place First Remembrance Day Wreath

The Princess of Wales will lead a significant remembrance event this year, marking her first time placing a wreath for Remembrance Day. This occasion is a poignant tribute to those who lost their lives in conflict.
A Special Ceremony for Remembrance Day
At Paddington Station, the Princess is set to lay a poppy wreath at the war memorial on platform one. Prior to this, she will engage with local community members and GWR executives in Chippenham, close to her residence in Wiltshire. During her visit, she will receive a unique wreath crafted from crocheted poppies by students from Monkton Primary School. The children jokingly inquired if her outfit was chosen to reflect GWR’s colors, to which she responded with laughter.
Traditions and Ceremonies
The ceremony will feature traditional elements, including the reading of the Call to Remembrance and the performance of the Last Post. At 11 am, a two-minute silence will honor the fallen.
Video Message from the Prince of Wales
In a parallel effort, the Prince of Wales will deliver a video message encouraging young people to participate in Remembrance Day. This address will target students aged nine to fourteen during the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Assembly.
- Key Date: Armistice Day
