Delhi-NCR Terror Module Busted: 2,900 kg Explosives, Heavy Metal Seized

In a significant anti-terror operation, authorities have uncovered a substantial cache of explosives in Delhi-NCR, arresting two individuals linked to the discovery. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with Haryana Police, executed a series of coordinated raids leading to the seizure of approximately 2,900 kg of materials used in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate.
Large Explosive Cache Discovered
The operation took place in an apartment in Faridabad, Haryana. Seized items included:
- 2,900 kg of IED-making materials
- 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate
- One assault rifle with three magazines
- A pistol with eight live rounds and additional ammunition
- 20 timers and remote controls
- Walkie-talkie sets and heavy metal
This operation is considered one of the largest related to terrorism in the Delhi-NCR region in recent years.
Arrests and Investigations
Two suspects were arrested: Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie, an assistant professor, and Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, a physician. The authorities pursued leads obtained from a previous investigation in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. During interrogation, Dr. Rather provided vital information about the explosives and his associate.
Ongoing Collaborative Efforts
The police operation involved extensive planning and surveillance over two weeks. Faridabad Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta confirmed that this joint initiative aims to dismantle a broader network tied to proscribed organizations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
Impact of the Terror Module
The arrested individuals are part of a “white-collar terror ecosystem,” allegedly composed of educated professionals acting under foreign influences. Investigators revealed that these operatives were involved in:
- Recruiting and radicalizing individuals
- Raising funds through various professional networks
- Coordinating logistics for terrorist activities
Future Precautions and Warnings
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have emphasized that the crackdown will continue to dismantle the terror support network effectively. The growing involvement of educated individuals in terror plots presents a concerning trend, highlighting the need for heightened awareness and preventive measures.
Broader Context
Alongside this operation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad apprehended suspects linked to a separate conspiracy involving potential terror attacks across India. The presence of radicalized professionals necessitates ongoing vigilance and action from law enforcement agencies.
The coordinated efforts against these terror modules reinforce the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, demonstrating commitment to ensuring national safety.
